After spending the summer in Denmark we returned to San Carlos to launch the boat and prepare for our final month of sailing in the Sea of Cortez. The summer had brought some rain in the area this year and it was a lot greener than what we have previously seen in these parts. The hill at the entrance to the bay of San Carlos has a layer of bright green on top of the red rocks:

A green Cerros las Tetas de Cabra (Hill of the Goat Teats):

The same hill from a different angle:

We crossed over from San Carlos to Baja and one of the first places we stopped was at Bahia Santo Domingo where we had been several times before. We went for a hike, following the same route that we have followed before to see the difference in vegetation:

All the trees and bushes have leaves and there are even some small shrubs and herbs that have emerged and are in bloom:

A spider had spun its web between some trees:

This looks almost lush:

A flowering bush with yellow butterflies:

Almost back to the beach where we anchored.

After Bahia Santo Domingo we visited many of the same places we have visited before during the last two seasons we have spent in Sea of Cortez so we will spare you more repeats. Here's a nice sunset behind the mountains:

These two islands are Los Islotes that are situated just north of Isla Partida, not too far from La Paz. They are the homes of a large sea lion colony and anchoring is prohibited so we just sailed past:
