We anchored next to Isla Estanque (Pond Island) appropriately named for a bay that is almost closed off to the sea at low tide. We arrived at high tide and had no problem sailing over the shallow part to anchor in the middle:

The white island in the background has its color from bird droppings.

The entrance to the bay is not the only shallow area. Between Isla Estanque and the larger Isla Angel de la Guarda which is visible in the background is another shallow shelf where the water rushes over from right to left in the above picture.

Below is a close-up of the water rushing over the shallow shelf:

This is the view further into the bay (Amanda is anchored just outside the right side of the picture):

This is the bay at low tide. The shallow area at the entrance to bay is just visible and the water rushing over the shelf further out is now moving from left to right:

The interior of the bay at low tide:

At low tide, a small pond formed at the innermost part of the bay with a shallow stream connecting it to the bay:

A very calm afternoon with fog rolling in:

From the top of the hill we saw this osprey flying by:

Another view from tht top of the hill:

Cactus fruits starting to grow:

When we came down the hill to take the dinghy back to the boat we found this guy hunting in the shallow water just off the beach:

It is an octopus crawling along the bottom looking for something to eat under the rocks and in the crevasses between them:

At one point it flattened itself out and changed colors from a reddish brown as seen above to a yellowish color:
